Netflix To Change Subscription Fees

Netflix subscribers, your monthly fees may be going up! Netflix will no longer be offering unlimited plans that include both streaming and DVDs by mail. They will now come as two separate services at $7.99 a month each, which is a good thing if you prefer one service over the other. The $7.99 DVD subscription allows for one DVD at a time. If you want two simultaneously, it'll cost you $11.99 per month. What used to be $9.99 for both unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs will
rise up to $15.98 ($7.99 + $7.99) a month . While it's not significantly more, the price raise will surely upset a lot of people. The change will be effective immediately for all new subscribers, and on or after September 1st for all existing customers.

Thanks for posting this. I was a subscriber for 2 years then moved and haven't signed back up yet. Now I'll know not to be surprised when or if I call. I think that it is a big difference for those that are already subscribers and they should be locked in at the old rate of $9.99. That's a $5.99 hike for current subscribers, that's 50%+ increase~!!!! I don't think that's fair for those that are already signed up. For us that need to resign or new subscriber then that's ok because we are new. I think they may get a lot of slack from their current subscribers. I know they would from me if I was still subscribed. I think knowing myself where it is more than 50% hike I would probably canceled my Netflix subscription and for those on Social Security or other fixed budget I think many of them will also cancel their subscription. I know my parents will. With Redbox $1 for those that only watch 1 0r 2 movies a week that would be cheaper for them. Thanks Again for the update~!
